This 140sqm HDB maisonette project centers on creating a light, airy environment through a disciplined material palette of white and varied wood grains. The design intent focuses on making the space feel visually weightless while incorporating sleek details that enhance the overall sense of lightness and sophistication.

We deliberately worked with just two core materials to achieve this luminous quality - the white surfaces reflect and amplify natural light throughout the space, while the varied wood grains add warmth without visual heaviness. Each wood grain pattern becomes a deliberate design element with sleek execution - vertical grain emphasizing height and creating upward visual movement, horizontal applications expanding perceived width, and cross-grain details serving as refined accent features.

The material choices specifically support the light aesthetic - lighter oak tones maintain the bright atmosphere while deeper walnut accents provide just enough contrast to define spaces without creating visual weight. The sleek detailing in joinery, hardware, and material transitions ensures clean lines that don't interrupt the flow of light or create visual clutter.
